John Scott

C-154

John Scott was born in Boston, Mass., in 1955 to Eleanor L. Del Greco and James Warren Scott, who were both from Boston. They lived together in Roslindale at the time that John was moved to the Fernald School. John was in the Fernald School for seventeen years until he died on April 16, 1973. He was 17 years and 9 months old, and according to his death certificate, he died from “congestion in his pulmonary artery,” and “edema with insufficiency.” This means that he wasn’t getting blood flow to his limbs and his heart wasn’t pumping blood properly. Over forty years after his passing, John’s teacher remembered him as a teenager with black-rimmed glasses, a wheelchair user, who “just loved coming to school.” Weiner said he had “some academic skills” and that he was “always happy” when she saw him. John was buried in plot C-154 at the MetFern Cemetery.
